Prof. Pachinger is a member of numerous national and international professional societies, he is a board member of the Austrian Cardiology Society and president of the Austrian Heart Fund. Prof. Pachinger has worked at numerous foreign universities (University of Freiburg im Breisgau, University of Southern California, University of Loma Linda, California). He has published over 250 articles and 7 books. He is Executive Editor of Integrative Oncology & Editorial Board Member of Journal of Clinical Trials in Cardiology, etc. Using his new diagnostic method, which received U.S. patent, he can non-invasively and rapidly measure many neurotransmitters, other chemicals, asbestos, viruses, and bacteria. He developed non-invasive quick diagnostic methods of malignancies, as well as a method of evaluating the effects of any treatment.

He has also served as Chief Scientific Officer and Diabetes Group Leader at Institut Pasteur Korea, a world-leading translational research institute. His research is funded by Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Canadian Diabetes Association and Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada. Studies have resulted in publications in leading journals including Diabetes, Nature Reviews Cardiology, Proc Natl Acad Sci USA, Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, Endocrinology and Cell Metabolism. These studies focus mainly on diabetes and cardiovascular disease, in particular the mechanisms linking obesity with diabetes and heart failure.

Trudie C. A. Lobban MBE, FRCP (Edin) is Trustee and Founder of Arrhythmia Alliance (A-A). Recognised as a world expert on all forms of arrhythmias, Trudie represents patients and their caregivers, as well as working closely with everyone involved in the care and treatment of those affected by cardiac arrhythmias and sudden cardiac arrest. Established in 2004, the charity was successful in the introduction of a new chapter in the National Service Framework (NSF) for Coronary Heart Disease on Arrhythmias and Sudden Cardiac Death. Trudie was a member of the expert group engaged by the Department of Health to produce the first significant healthcare document specifically addressing arrhythmia services. She is instrumental in the development of A-A National Partners throughout Europe, America and Asia, and spearheaded the first international awareness event, World Heart Rhythm Week, supported by the World Society of Arrhythmias. Trudie has written papers and a chapter on syncope and arrhythmias as well as being a member of several research projects. She was awarded an MBE for her services to healthcare in 2008 and became a FRCP (Edin) in 2014. She is an internationally recognised patient expert and presents globally at scientific congresses.

Giugliano is a Senior Investigator with the TIMI Study Group, Associate Physician in the Cardiovascular Division at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. He hold degrees from Dartmouth College (1985 A.B. Mathematics, Phi Beta Kappa), Harvard Medical School (1989 MD), and Harvard School of Public Health (1997 Science Masters - Epidemiology). He trained in Internal Medicine at Cedars-Sinai (Los Angeles) and Cardiovascular Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital (Boston). His areas of research interests include novel antithrombotic and fibrinolytic agents, lipid-lowering therapies, and the assessment of outcomes in patients with ACS.

S Jamal Mustafa is the Professor of Physiology and Pharmacology at West Virginia University (WVU). He has received Dean’s Award for Excellence in Research from SOM in 2008 and became a Robert C. Byrd Professor in 2010 and received Chancellor’s Award for Outstanding Achievement in Research and Scholarly Activities from HSC, in 2013. He has also published over 200 manuscripts. His past work has led to the approval of an A2A selective AR agonist (Lexican®) for myocardial perfusion imaging. Currently, he is using AR and β adrenergic receptor KOs to better understand the relationship between these receptors in coronary flow regulation.

HK Chopra, a cardiologist working with Moolchand Medcity was elected unanimously as a ‘President of Cardiological Society of India’ at Hyderabad. Chopra said that his mandate in 2015 is to enhance awareness about hypertension, heart attacks and obesity. He also said that he will focus on developing technology in interventional cardiology in India and enhance awareness about timely intake of effective heart protective pill for Indians. He also said that lifestyle optimisation through alliance with governmental and non-governmental organisations and prevention of risk factors will help prevent heart attack in India below the age of 70. He emphasised that ‘Healthy Heart India is Fit India’.
