Cardiac nurse helps treat conditions like angina, coronary artery disease, myocardial infarction and cardiac dysrhythmia under the instruction of the cardiologists. Cardiac nurses perform postoperative care on a surgical unit, cardiac monitoring, and stress test evaluations. The cardiac nurse must have a Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification. In addition cardiac nurses should have specialized skills including electrocardiogram monitoring, defibrillation. Cardiac Nurses works in many different environments like Coronary Care Units (CCU), Cardiac Catheterization, Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
